DT for Fat Pages...

Today's post is the DT design that I made for fat pages I hope that you will join in the challenge with us this week - the name of the image that I chose to use was 'godshill' from delicious doodle and I love it - I have always been fascinated with bonsai trees and how remarkable they look when they are all twisty and small!
So for this image I chose to colour it using my new promarkers - I used the colour sets nature and fur (the fur ones were purchased because they have sold out of hair!) I started with the trunk and the branches of the tree, just using the one pro-markers and adding more colour to where the knots in the bark were. I then used 3 greens to colour the leave starting with the lightest shade and adding deeper colour last.
Once I had completed this I trimmed the image down inked the edges, mounted on to white card and then again on turquoise.
On the white card blank I added a square teal and turquoise DSP that I have had in my stash for about 3 years, I then added a piece of the new sale-a-bration DSP that I have fallen in love with... It is perfect for Springtime with the bright colours included and I have to say it compliments so well with so many elements of this card!
Down the right hand side of the page I added tags of ribbon that I stapled into place and to the left hand side I attached the image and a sentiment - In the bottom right I added 3 card candi...
I am going to enter this into the following challenges -
Prairie Fairy Friday - spring fling
Patties Creations - anything goes
Sentimental Sundays - Spring or Easter
Simon Says - anything goes
Art Impression Stamps -  spring has sprung

I hope you like my page and thanks for looking!

ATC - DT

So for today's challenge over on ATC's with Attitude - anything goes. I am sharing an ATC that is using an image from the sponsor - Delicious Doodles. The image that I have used is called Olivia and I think that she is stunning! I have decided to keep the ATC very simple as I did not want to detract away from how gorgeous that she is...
She is coloured using pro-markers and I have inked the edges of the panel. I have then mounted the image on to pumpkin card and then again on to navy card... I have distressed the edges of the image and then added colour using a dauber and then I have simply added three card candi to the right hand side of the panel...
In the feathers in her hair I have simply added a gem the the base to add a tine bit of sparkle to the image...
I am entering this ATC in the following challenge
The Linen Shelf - daffodils

I hope you like my ATC and thanks for looking

A Hoppy Easter...

Do you like the pun for this card?? I thought it worked so well with this cute image that I have worked with for the crafty pad challenge!
For this card I have chosen subtle spring colours and for the weather that we are experiencing today it fits so well!
I just love yellow and peach together they are so refreshing and I have used pink card stock to compliment them...
For this card I have painted two images and decoupaged them - using my ink pads to paint with and an aqua brush - again waiting for the image to dry to add another coat so that the colour does not ruin the edge of the image.
I mounted this on pink and pumpkin card stock and then added a piece of DSP from my stash with the tiny flowers on to the white carrd blank. TO the right hand side of the card I have added white ribbon and stapled this in a folded tag.
A very simple card but I did not want to take away from how good this image is to work with - so I do hope that you will join us in the crafty pad challenge this week - some bunny loves you!
I will be entering this card in the Creative Card Crew Challenge - Spring!
So thank you for taking the time to look at my blog and your comments as always are much appreciated - Debbi

a new baby... beautiful!

Here is a card I am sharing that I made for two friends who were blessed with the birth of a new son recently... A very exiting time as they get used to being parents for the first time and used to having very little sleep - ever again!
I used a Stampin Up stamp set that I have got from the USA and I love it... I decided to use the colours marine mist and so saffron as I think that they are subtle and look really well together. I stamped the image onto whisper white card and then on a sererate on stamped another. I then used my inkpads to paint the images and build the colour up - waiting for the ink to dry before adding anymore. I then cut the second image out to add decoupage to the first image. I then distressed the edges of the panel and inked them. To the card blank I added a piece of marine card and so saffron on top of this and I stamped little rattles randomly all over them once I had done this I also distressed and inked the edges to each panel - the sentiment I stamped in marine card and then mounted this on to the panels of coloured card stock.
In the top left panel I added three card candi
I hope that you like my card and thanks for looking - apologies for the lack of posts this week I am struggling with my back...

One layer...

I decided that as I was visiting Harrogate this weekend I would make some quick ATC's to give out to people who I met - I knew that I would be meeting a couple of people during the day Sylvia for one who I met through one of the crafty facebook groups and my friend Deborah who it was lovely to spend the day with we speak often but haven't seen each other for over a year...
As I am beginning to love making ATC's I thought that I would make some very quick one to hand to the people that I met... I decided to use the butterfly stamp set that is a hostess set for stampin up and the colours bashful blue and night of navy. I stamped the vine to the left of the blank and then I stamped butterflies all around the edge using two different sizes I added the sentiment for the set over the vine stamped in the darker colour and I inked the edges in bashful blue and night of navy.
A very simple card but also very effective - sometimes less does look better!
I have just found an ATC challenge that this fits - Wicked Wednesday - glad I found one and Abbie has given me another in her comment! x
I hope you like my ATC and thanks for looking - I am going to try and find some ATC challenges to try next to get my creativity going!

Mothers Day

So today started with being awoken with my eldest boy putting a card on my pillow and then him going to wake his brother so that they could come into together - then my lovely hubby got a box off the wardrobe - which had been there over a week apparently and it was covered in Emma Bridgewater paper and ribbon (hubby earning brownie points!)
He had ordered me a new mug to go with the pieces that he had purchased me at Christmas and I have to say this is fast becoming my new obsession and Ebay is not helping! The mug that the boys had bought for me was personalised with the word 'mummy' however the weirdest thing about my new mug is that was it was inspected by - Joyce... My mum was called Joyce and she passed away 18 years ago - spooky! I think you will agree...
The cards that my boys made are beautiful and even Aidan (3) has tried very hard to sign his name - bless...
So we had a quick breakfast showered and dressed and got into the car to rive to my dads to surprise my stepmum with lunch and her presents - had told her we would not make it down to see them this year!
Saw my brother and family and that was lovely and then this afternoon we went to the park with my sister and family - a truly lovely day!
The card that I made for my stepmum was made using one of the stampin' Up! hostess sets and I think that it is beautiful - the colours I chose to use were pretty in pink and rose red, the card that I used for the image panel was confetti white and I attached the the butterflies using dimensionals... I distressed the edges to the card stock panels and I also inked the edges. I also added some card candi - I really wish that we had SU candi - I would be in co-ordination heaven!
I hope you all had a great day too and spent it with special people! Thanks for looking

ATC - DT

So I think that I have discovered a new passion - I have always stayed away from ATC's as I didn't think that I would be able to create something that I was pleased with on something so small - how wrong was I... I know that I have only made a couple of these but I have loved creating them - the images that we are being given to work with on the challenge blog ATC's with Attitude are amazing - I hope you will join in with us this time steampunk/ anything goes!
For my ATC this week I printed two of the images and once I had trimmed one down I colored it with my polychromos and sansador once I had completed I added three brads to decorate and mounted the image on pacific blue card distressed the edges and then again on melon mambo and distressed the edges. I then mounted the panel onto the ATC blank and attached a ribbon tag in satin white. I distressed the edges and inked the edges of the ATC blank...
The final touch that I added to my butterflies was to add crystal effects to the second printed image - leave it to dry and them cut them out and attach with dimensionals...
I hope you like my example and thanks for looking - Debbi x
I may even make a couple of examples of the ATC's  throughout the month! x

Fat Pages DT card...

I have today taken pictures of the card that I created for the Fat Pages with Attitude - all be it a little late as it was still on my desk - so apologies to the rest of the team for being so late with my design... I knew as soon as I saw the design that I would chose this to work with as I love the little fairy, peeking out around the bottom of the mushroom...
I coloured my design with pro-markers and once I had completed this I went round the image with a cool grey no2. I then painted over the image with my very watered down whit H20 to add a little shimmer to the image. I then distressed the edges of the image, mounting this on blue card that I again distressed the edges of, I added a piece of blue/grey DSP to the card blank and then to this I added a piece of white satin ribbon and a bow - I really need to practice tying bows as I love adding them to my work but very rarely get them right! lol
I distressed the edges to my card and inked the edges with marina blue and added the DSP to this. I then added the image which I attached at an angle and to the top and the bottom of the card I added card candy... I stamped a sentiment in marina blue from curvy verses which I think suits the image down to the ground!
Thanks for looking and I hope you like your card - your comments are very much appreciated and don't forget if you find the time to enter the challenge - anything goes/ love

late...so late!

So today I found on my desk the card that I made for the crafty bloggers network challenge last week - the retro theme was one that I loved and I was really pleased with it when I had finished - but then I buried it and it was lost until today!
So I have decided to post the card anyway as I really like it.
For this card I have used the Stampin Up papers that were released a couple of years ago - sweet pea and for a retro theme they are perfect i love the design of the paper and I love the colours that are included also. I have mounted the DSP on to a card blank where I have inked the edges of both the card and the DSP in one of my favourite colours - teal and although that this is a retired colour from Stampin' Up! I have kept my ink pad and some card to continue to use!
I have cut strips of teal card to add to the card and reduced these in size... I have punched 4 small tags out and in the teal one stamped 'for you' I have stapled this to the card and attached the tags with linen thread...
I am gutted that I missed entering this into the challenge - but hope you like the card...
However as my lovely cyber friend Vee has pointed out this card fits in Emma's monthly challenge with the stripes - so can enter there - thanks Vee! x

Crafty Pad DT card

I have been dying to share this card with you for the last couple of week ever since I received the design to create my card with... As many of you will know my new obsession is Emma Bridgewater and I have a very small collection now pride of place in my collection - this image is fantastic to recreate the colours that Emma Bridgewater uses in the pottery and I have done my best ro replicate these with my Stampin Up ink ads and aqua brush - I got my lovely friend Heather (if you were to visit her home you would see the MASSIVE collection of EB that she has built!) to send me a couple of close up images of the pottery so I could get the colours just right!
I have chosen on this occasion to paint my teapot in crumb cake so that the colours are shown better when using a white card black and to show the shading of the teapot and the cup I kept the design of the card very simple on this occasion as I didn't want to detract away from the image of the teapot! So for the colours I have chosen bashful blue, real red, so saffron garden green and wasabi green. I loved making this card and I am really pleased with the results - I have also chosen to use a crafty pad sentiment, and I have punched this out and mounted it twice on so saffron and bashful blue. To the top left hand side of the image I have used three pearls o decorate. The background of the card is bashful blue and so saffron on a whisper white card blank. I can see that I will be using this image much more! I hope you like my card and thanks for stopping by your comments are always appreciated.
Thanks also to Emma Bridgewater for lovely pottery and colours to look at and Heather for an amazing collection of photos! x
I am entering this card into the challenge at Crazy Challenge this week there is no DSP!
and also Cupcake Challenge this week going dotty

A Beautiful Stamped Image,,,

One of the things that I love being a paper crafter is all the different resources that we have available to us when we are asked to make a card... and the very fact that people I know ask me to make their cards for them is always an honour! I sometimes have to remind myself that people do think that the cards/gifts that I create are good and have a bit more confidencein the items I create! (I suppose we can all use a little more at times!)
So one of my friends asked me to make a congratulations card for one of her friends daughter's who had just sat entrance exams for 3 grammar schools in the local area. She has been accepted to one and Alison wanted to send her a card her a congratulations card.
Which suits the challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge down to the ground! The Young Ones
For my card I coloured the image with my Stampin Up ink pads and an aqua brush using the colours basic grey, crumb cake and rose red. I then inked the edges of the image and mounted it in to rose red card and then again on to grey card which I also inked the edges too. In the top left hand corner I added three SU brads for detail and that little extra bling! On the card blank I added a piece of rose red card that I inked the edges too and then stamped the word 'congratulations' under where I have mounted the image in basic grey...
I hope that you like my card and I appreciate you taking the tome to visit my blog - your comments are very much appreciated - happy stampin! Debbi xxx

Man's Card...

This will be a quick post from me this evening as I need to go and rest my achy bones - struggling as well to keep my eyes open as I have to take medication in the evening to help me relax - so I am not waking up every few minutes with my back! Driving me mad is not even in it...
I am sharing this evening a card that I made for my dad for his birthday, I have used a digi image that I found at the crafty pad that suited what I wanted to make for my dad - to a tee.
One of the things that my dad loves is reading and this stack of books made me think of him - there are always new books to look at when we visit... He also buys a Sunday paper that he keeps through the week to read different sections from - he has done that for many years! So the card that I made for my dad is coloured using my SU ink pads and a blender pen and I have just built the colour up, making sure the image was dry before adding more.
I have also used SU card stock and decorated the panels with the sanded background I love the way that this stamp adds a look of texture to the project that you are making! I have inked the edge of the image panel and then mounted this on chocolate chip card and then again on crumb cake... I have then added this to a larger piece of chocolate chip and one of night of navy, I have added 3 card candy to decorate!
I hope you like my card and thank you for visiting my blog... I love reading your comment - Debbi x

New DT - Fat Pages with Attitude...

So today I am sharing with you the DT card that I made for the Fat Pages - I love the image that I chose to work with. Silhouettes are always great to work with as they ass such bold focus to the card and they centre your vision straight away.
For this card I decided that I would use a square card blank. I trimmed the image and added a vintage brad detail to the left hand side of the panel. I inked the edges of the panel and mounted this onto basic black card and then again onto white - again inking the edges.
On the card blank I added some red and white flowered DSP from Stampin Up and although this contained no black in the print I inked the edges with basic black. I also inked the edges of the card blank. The sentiment that I chose to use was from Just Believe I stamped this image onto confetti white card as it is different in colour to whisper white and I think that this makes it stand out more - even though the difference is only subtle.
I hope you like my card and will join in the challenge over on Fat Pages. Thank you for taking the time to look at my Blog today! xxx

First ATC and first DT project for ATC's with Attitude...

I am so pleased to be part of the team over at ATC's with attitude as I think this will really challenge my creativity... I have always loved the idea of ATC's but never actually made one so the fact that I now have to give them a go for specific projects is really exciting me... I have linked here for you to play along!
For this challenge I decided that I would think 'card' but smaller - I decided that I would colour my image in pro markers I chose this medium so that I could build the colour up and use the blender pen to shade. I coloured two of the image and decided that I would decoupage the second once shaded. I mounted the images on old olive card and then on to a blank ATC card.
To the image I added ribbon down the left side and three card candy to the right. I distressed the edges of the panels and inked the edges of each.
I hope you like my first ever ATC I loved doing it and cannot wait for the next one.
Thanks for looking - Debbi x

Saturday 3 March 2012

hello! and a DT card

Well this post is a few days late and I apologise for that as I have not had the best of weeks with my back - pain getting worse and being referred to hospital and then I had to attend a friends funeral who I have not seen for a few years but who I grew up with - so sad another friend taken so soon... It is sometimes a very cruel world that we live in... On the plus side I don't think I have laughed so much in a long time - so many memories and good times that we shared and the friends that I lost contact with I am sure that I will stay in contact with now...
So firstly I am going to share with you my DT card that I created for the challenge over on cards galore this months challenge is - clean and simple this is something that will have slightly different meanings for people, to me it means keeping the lines of the card simple as well as the image that you use - so nothing too fussy.
For this card I decided that I would the Stampin' Up! stamp set pocket silhouettes I love this set as you are able to build up your image step by step. The colours that I chose were old olive and cherry cobbler I think that they look really good together and that they compliment each other really well. I stamped on a whisper white piece of card, inked the edges of this and then mounted on cherry cobbler and then again on white, a final layer of cherry cobbler and then mounted this onto a white card blank, to the right hamd side I have added three brads to decorate. A plain and simple card! I hope you like it and thanks for taking the time to look - I hope you will join in our challenge!
