Stamp With Us! another challenge...

Another week another challenge - this week we had to complete a colour challenge and the inspiration was a chocolate cupcake - which looks beautiful! and good enough to eat... this week it was our take on the colour - and here is mine. I have used a close to cocoa card blank SU! with some DSP, that is now retired but I think it went really well with the stamp I had chosen, I stamped a penny black image and coloured this with my water colour crayons again SU! I then used ribbon to decorate and created a bow... So far this has been my favourite challenge. I love these colours... Below is a picture of the cupcake mmmmmmm! and also a close up of my image - how cute are these cats??

here is the card itself... i hope you like it and thanks for looking x

'Crafty' Playdate Mens Cards...

I spent the evening on Weds with my friend making a number of Mens cards - all using Stampin' Up! card, stamps and accessories... and here is what we made - of course there was lots of gossiping and chocolate eating that went on as well! LOL
The first one is made using the in the stars stamp set with close to cocoa card stock and a strip of not quite navy card acrossd the middke - this had been run through the big shot to emboss a pattern on. The stars are stamped using not qite navy on whisper white and the other two stars are punched out of card stock, one brilliant blue and the other more mustard. There are four eyelets to decorate in co-ordinating colours made with the crop-o-dile.
The second card is also using in the stars set with a more mustard card blank not quite navy strip through the middle - again run through the big shot, the greeting is also stamped on more mustard and in not quite navy ink. The stars are in whisper white one stamped and one punched out, both decorated with buttons with string tied through.

The final card my favourite uses the circle of friendship stamp set on a plain white card blank, there is a panel of chocolate chip card stock with a border around each edge, with two smaller panels of bashful blue that has been run through the bigshot to decorate, this has then been edged with not quite navy card stock. Across the middle of the card are two eyelets with string tied through them to decorate. the stamp is then layered onto not quite navy, whisper white then onto bashful blue and again onto a scolloped punch.

here is a close up I think that these 'crafty' get togethers are going to be a weekly thing! I certainly need the practice and they are really enjoyable - what a better way to spend a couple of hours! I hope you like these and thanks for looking!

Playdate

One night last week I went to my friends armed with my scor pal!, some card, a couple of stampsets and some ink pads and this is what we made... a little pizza box and a set of cards to go inside... I used the garden whimsy set and bold brights cardstock. here is the box...

There are four cards in the box which are pictured below. I love making projects like this because they can easily be completed in an evening and make a fantastic gift. The cards are cut from the bold brights cardstock and stamped onto whisper white...

Here are two close ups of the cards these were my favourites - I love the bright colours and I love how easily you can build the images of the stamp set up creating different effects...

I think for the time being I will be putting away the garden whimsy set, i need a new favourite! Thats all for now - my challenge tonight after I have cleared away the ironing will be to complete this weeks 'stamp with us' challenge. This week we are working with colour!

Bye for now and thanks for looking x

The Sun is shining...

On a happier note for this post I made one of my crafting friends a congratulations card as she has got a new job, unfortunately this means that we will not get to meet as often as she is working away but I wish her all the best for the future and we will keep in touch...

For this card I used a Forever Friends bear stamp and mounted the image on passion pink card stock and then again on brilliant blue card stock from Stampin' Up! I stamped the greeting 'congratulations' and then mounted it in the same colours. I then used Forever Friends ribbon to create the bow. The Image was painted using Stampin' Up! watercolurs and my aqua painter, which my technique has improved greatly with - my images no longer swim with loads of water that I need to soak up! I then added three papermania gems to decorate - I love these as they are so easy to use and look really effective.

The second card I am showing is a 40th birthday card I was asked to make for a family friend, I used the Stampin' Up! set Golden Oldies from the new mini catalogue - available now! stamped on whisper white cardstock and painted again with the watercolours, i then mounted this on pretty in pink cardstock, i used Stampin' Up! chipboard for the 40 and colur this with pretty in pink ink and brown 1/4' grosbain ribbon to decorate the card basre. The paper used is Forever Friends to create a border and again mounted on pretty in pink card stock.

I hope you like them - thats all for now and thanks for looking, have a lovely weekend in the sun x

A Very Special Lady

I am posting a card tonight that I have made for my step mum, whose best friend passed away last week. Joan was a very special lady and an avid crafter and thinking of her when I made the card I wanted to do something simple and bright! Having never made a sympathy card before it was difficult to know what to do... The colour I used was lovely lilac, stamped on whisper white, mounted on lovely lilac card, then double mounted on basic black. The same was repeated for the sentiment... I used some white organza ribbon and some purple ribbon that I already had. The colours I think Joan would have loved.

thanks for looking bye for now!

Busy Weekend!

Well a very busy weekend and lots going on - running around after the children, seeing friends and family to swap Easter gifts and with what little time was left over fitted in some crafting too!

I have completed my card for the Forever Friends challenge - this week we had to complete a card in monotone - I used the colours lilac and purple - I painted the image using SU! soft subtle watercolours - pale plum I then mounted this on orchid opulence cardstock and again on paper from the Forever Friends paper stack 'with love'. I used the same paper as a border and again mounted this on orchid opulence cardstock - attaching this to the left hand side of the card blank. I used three brads from the Forever Friends set celebration and attached these to the left hand side of the border and finally attached the painted image to the right hand side of the card. These are not normally colours that I use but I think they look lovely and am pleased with the card...

The next challenge I undertook was the one for 'Stamp with Us' just going on to the blog to look at other entries is inspiration enough - the blog is by far my favourite and I love the ideas that the design team are putting forward! This week we are challenge to create a birthday card.
This week I decided to use the stamp set 'A beautiful Thing' from Stampin Up! A stamp set that I have not really used a lot but I love it. I decided to make a red card again a colour I don't normally use (and for a Manchester United fan that is surprising!)
I stamped three of the flowers onto Whisper White cardstock and cut them out, I then mounted these onto three of the shadow stamps again stamped in Real Red on Whisper White and I have cut around these. I used dimensionals to mount them. For the border I used Real Red cardstock and stamped using Real red the swirly circle stamping off some of the images to change the shade. I then stitched around this using my Stampin Up! gel pen. I stamped a birthday message from the 'Cheer and Wishes' set again in red and used a dauber to colour the edges. This was then mounted on Real Red cardstock. I used a strip of Real Red grosbain ribbon 1/4' across the top of the card blank and tied a bow to the right hand side. I mounted the border under this and attached the three flowers to the left hand side. The birthday message is to the right hand side.

Phew... what a post I hope you all have had a fantastic holiday weekend and thanks for looking.

Forever Friends

After Stampin Up! My next favourite passion has to be Forever Friends, this started when I was younger with the bears, pencil cases and stationary etc and now I have nearly all the stamps, papers and accessories that have been brought out in the last few months relating to the gorgeous bears! This is a card that I made for a friend... I love the colours in the paper which are the FF range and I have used H20's to paint the hat for the rest of the bear I used SU! watercolour crayons, the ribbon used is dovecraft the brads I got in a papermania set with black and whit accessories... I love the simplicity of the image that can be created into something so lovely and cheery!
Well thats all for now - thanks for looking x

Stamp With Us!

Monika, Zoe and Natalie have announced the first challenge on Stamp with us! and not needing much of an excuse to get out my Stampin Up! stash I thought I would give it a go I haven't had chance to use my Garden Whimsy stamp set... One of the first things that Stamp with Us announced was a design team call...

So here is my card. It is made using all Stampin Up! products and the recipe

Garden Whimsy stamp set
Pink Passion ink
A4 - Pink Passion, Whisper White and Basic Black
Whisper White grosbain ribbon
Basic Black buttons
and the sketch to follow:

I stamped the butterfly image in pink passion and then cut around the image stamped, I then mounted this on basic black card, with a length of the whisper whitee ribbon attached to the back of this mount. I then mounted the black onto a piece of passion pink cut larger than the black. Both these are attached with tape. The ribbon is also attached with tape and a knot tied around the strip. I stuck three basic black buttons to the top right hand side of the card again using tape cut to size. The garden whimsy greeting I double mounted and stuck this down with tape in line with the basic black mount.
I can't wait for the next challenge!

thanks for looking

I have made some cards with my mini catalogue order and am impressed with how they have turned out... Whilst placing my order I had to be very restrained and not just buy everything - although I admit I was tempted and now I am seeing more examples posted am thinking I should buy the rest LOL! However of the order I did make I love the two sets 'forest friends' and 'choo choo' I love the versatility... Have a look and let me know what you think! If you want to place an order just email me for details... So yesterday the pictures were a little large - lets try again LOL!
